Learning Community

At the core of our pastoral care and academic support are Cornbury and Wychwood Houses.

Within these Houses are  six learning communities: Wychwood Lower and Cornbury Lower are made up of  tutor groups in Years 7, Wychwood Middle and Cornbury Middle comprises tutor groups in Years 8 and 9, while Wychwood Upper and Cornbury Upper comprises tutor groups in Years 10 and 11.

These learning communities are "schools within schools" and their purpose is to offer pastoral and academic support in smaller, discrete groups and to foster a sense of identity and belonging in our students.

As well as this  pastoral and academic support, the two Houses provide a "fierce but friendly" rivalry amongst the students as they compete in the classroom, on the sports field and in the arts for the ultimate prize:  the Sue Sawyers House Trophy.
