Learning Resource Centre

The Learning Resources Centre (LRC) is open daily from 8.30am until an hour after school.

We also have a team of student librarians from Years 7-13

Students may borrow up to 5 items for up to 2 weeks at a time. New students are given a library ticket in their first term. Keep it in your pencil case or wallet, as you will need it every time you want to take out or renew your books.

Books should be returned to the main desk in the in LRC. If you need the books for longer you may renew them. You don't need to have them with you, just bring your library ticket to the counter. Items may be reserved if they are already on loan - please ask at the desk. We send out overdue notices regularly to remind you which books need to be returned. 

Ask Oliver - The library catalogue. Search for a title, author or keyword to see if an item is in the LRC and where to find it. 

Sections of the Library - General fiction, Information books, Reference  books, DVDs, audiobooks, Periodicals, Senior Library and Read On! Fiction.

Competitions & Events - Join in the regular competitions and take part in our book events such as shadowing the Carnegie Award, Roald Dahl Day and BookFest Week.

Homework Club - Homework Club runs for an hour after school daily when there is help available from trained staff. Learning Resources Centre staff provide study skills support. 

Reading Clubs - Reading Clubs take place at Friday lunchtime. Join our Pageturners or Fictionary Club groups to take part in discussions, quizzes, play reading, riddle-making, author visits etc. 

Study Skills - Staff are always available to help with queries and ICT. 

Also Available - 18 Networked computers, colour printing, online study resources, opportunities to train as a Student Librarian, Careers Centre.
