On Tuesday 14th October former Wood Green Student Karl Franklin came into school to give a talk to Year 10 & 11 Catering students.
Karl recently completed his apprenticeship training to become a chef and he now works at Witney Lakes. He was first inspired to be a chef in Year 8 after winning a competition to be Oxfordshire’s finest young chef (at the age of 12).
He gave the students an interesting talk on the different types of knives used in a catering establishment. The students enjoyed tasting his home made mackerel pate, after watching him debone fish and poultry, using the different coloured boards and preparation knives.
We would like to thank Karl for his visit and wish him every success as he embarks on his catering career.
