Wood Green School is seeking two new governors to complement the skill set and knowledge base of the existing governing body.
We are a small, proactive group, made up of parents, a local authority member and others in the community with no particular link to the school. We have a shared interest in keeping Wood Green a vibrant, stimulating and welcoming place of opportunities for our students, as well as being a school that challenges itself to continually improve in all aspects of education.
We have vacancies on the Governing Body for two individuals, preferably not parents of children at the school, who have business interests and connections within the local community, and/or experience of working with young people or those with special needs.
We have a full committee meeting once a term at 6.30pm and governors also join one of three sub-committees which also meet once a term, either at 4.00pm or 6.00pm. Some governors hold an additional role to act as a link to monitor specific aspects of school activity and this involves coming into school to meet with relevant staff, once or twice a term.
If you have an interest in becoming a school governor, or know someone who may meet the criteria we are looking for, more information can be obtained on our Governors page on the school website and in this guidance from the National Governors Association. If you wish to apply for this role, please send a brief resume and explain your interest in joining us to the Clerk to Governors: firstname.lastname@example.org.
