Mrs Beveridge completed the Prudential Ride London-Surrey cycling event on Sunday, 2nd August 2015. The weather was brilliant, the roads were closed to traffic all the way round (yay!) and 25K cyclists pedalled their way along the 100 mile course, starting in East London at the Olympic Park and proceeding through the City, West End, Chiswick, Hampton Court and out into the Surrey countryside. The hardest parts of the ride were Leith Hill followed by Box Hill (although Mrs Beveridge said she found the latter a real joy to ride up, including the switchbacks!). The riders then came back into London via Esher and Wimbledon before cycling along Embankment, up Pall Mall, through Admiralty Arch and down the Mall to the finish line with Buckingham Palace as the backdrop. It was absolutely fantastic. Mrs Beveridge’s actual ride time was 6 1/2 hrs, which she was very pleased with.
Mrs Beveridge would like to thank everybody who sponsored her and to advise that she has raised around £660, to date. Her Just Giving page will be open until the end of September, if you’d like to contribute to the charity she rode for, Oxfordshire I.M.P.S.
