During Carers Week (9th-14th June) Wood Green School and Henry Box did a number of fundraising and awareness raising activities to raise funds for young carers from both schools.
For the first time ever during Carers Week, the Friday was dedicated to raising awareness of young carers. There are an estimated 700,000 in the UK providing support to Parents, Siblings and other relatives.
As part of these efforts, Waitrose Community Matters ran a collection of green tokens for Witney Young Carers over the past month.
We are pleased to have raised a huge £541 which will be used to pay for an activity for young carers from both schools in the new school year.
Thank you to all staff, Parents and Students that gave us their green tokens!
