Year 7 & 8 Acer Trust Public Speaking Competition

Three teams of year 7 and 8 students went to Icknield School in Watlington on Tuesday to compete in the first public speaking competition being held by the three Acer Trust secondary schools.

The standard of presentations was impressively high and our teams spoke on such diverse subjects as Do You Have The Attention Span of a Goldfish? Fast Food, and The Joys of Fidget Spinners. We were very proud of them all and the judges gave Thea Crosby the award for best chairperson.

To put the icing on the cake, the Do You Have The Attention Span of a Goldfish? team won the overall competition. Congratulations to Alice Shadbolt, Thea Moxham and Adam Bennett and to all the teams and their coaches who took part.

Next year, Wood Green will be hosting the competition and we look forward to working with new teams with their exciting new topics in September.
