At the start of this particularly important year for your family, when you will be making decisions about transfer from primary to secondary school, we are very pleased to invite you to Wood Green School Open Evening for prospective parents and students on Thursday 30th September 2021. The evening is designed so that you and your child will learn as much about Wood Green as possible. You will be able to tour the school to see staff and students working together, and perhaps join in yourselves.
The Open Evening is from 5.00pm to 8.00pm. Due to the current situation, there will be no presentation in the main hall this year. Instead, those presentations will be made available online in the week running up to the evening. This will include a talk from Mr Shadbolt, the Headteacher, Mr Roberts, the teacher who leads on transition, two of our current Year eight students and two Lead Students. If you have any questions regarding the transition process, Mr Roberts will be available for 15 minute drop-in sessions to answer them at 5.30-5.45pm, 6.00-6.15pm, 6.30-6.45pm and 7.00-7.15pm in the Main Hall. There will also be a member of the Leadership Team available in the Restaurant all evening.
We would like to spread arrivals throughout the evening. We would be grateful if you could arrive at:
• 5.00pm. Madley Brook CP and Springfield School, Hailey CE Primary School, Tower Hill School, Ducklington Primary School.
• 5.45pm. North Leigh C of E Primary School, Finstock Primary School, The Batt C of E Primary, West Witney Primary School, Leafield C of E School.
• 6.30pm. The Blake CE School, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School, Witney Community Primary School, Queen Emma’s Primary School, Aston & Cote C of E School.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could arrive at your allotted time, however if this is difficult for you we can be reasonably flexible.
We appreciate that there may be children from schools not mentioned in this list who wish to visit us. They are most welcome and can slot into a time that is convenient.
When you arrive, please come to reception at the main entrance where you will be greeted and given a programme for the evening. Parking will be available on site.
Should you be unable to attend this event and would like to visit the school, please contact Mr Roberts, who has responsibility for the transition from year 6 to 7, by either email, firstname.lastname@example.org, or phone as above.
We look forward to welcoming you to Wood Green School.
