The LIBRARY is situated at the heart of the school and offers a welcoming, relaxed environment for all students to study, read or socialise.

The library is open every day from 8.30am until an hour after school and is run by Mrs Prior and Miss Ab-Iorwerth.

As well as stocking the latest fiction releases and essential Accelerated Reader novels, the library also sports a large non-fiction area, manga and graphic fiction section plus up to date journals including New Scientist, English Review and Politics Review.

Staff and students can borrow up to 5 books at a time for a two week period.

We are equipped with 18 network computers linked to our colour printer available to students to do homework or research.

Reading Cloud

Reading Cloud is our online library system where students can look up library books, create their own avatar and profile, chat with their friends about what they are reading, request books, take AR quizzes, write book reviews and research popular authors

World Book Online

World Book Online is an incredible online encyclopaedia funded by the library. This provides up to date research and material suitable for all subjects. Login in and check it out.


Digi-map is funded by the library and is a really useful tool supporting a number of subjects including geography and history.

Clubs & Activities:-

Homework Club – runs every day for an hour after school (except Fridays). Students can do their homework in a relaxed atmosphere, they can use the resources and computers available.

They will also be offered tea, squash, toast or snacks.

Fictionary club – runs every Friday lunchtime. Anyone is welcome and we do lots of book related games and activities.

Break and lunch time – the library is open to all students to read, work or socialise. As well as books and computers we also have a number of board games, activities and competitions.

We offer a friendly space where there is always something to do, something to learn and something to share or simply somewhere to “be”.
