If you are looking to get back into teaching and need support to prepare for a return to the Maths classroom, this is the programme for you! This NCTL supported programme of 8 sessions will provide returning teachers with the confidence to teach quality Mathematics lessons as well as up-to-date information about the ever-changing Maths curriculum. The sessions will aim to provide returning teachers with a greater understanding of how topics interlink and how to plan for progression across the curriculum. In addition it will be an opportunity to network and work collaboratively with other Maths teachers, sharing ideas and good practice.


  • To develop the participants confidence in teaching Mathematics and enabling the planning and teaching of Maths for understanding.
  • Provide a variety of ideas and teaching strategies that can be used in the classroom.
  • To develop an understanding of the Maths Curriculum and how parts of the curriculum interlink.
  • Recognising student misconceptions and ways of planning for these in lessons.
  • To identify how strands of T&L can be specifically developed in Maths, for example marking and feedback.

The twilight sessions will be held at The Oxford Academy, OX4 6JZ, and will commence on Wednesday 11th November at 4.15 p.m.   Each session will last an hour and a half.
