Some of you may have seen our very own Chair of Governors, Hilary Pillin, in the local press this week as a contestant in the Strictly Oxford 2016 competition, raising money for Vale House, Specialist Dementia Care in Oxford. Hilary is taking part as a personal challenge and hopes to inspire others, whatever their age, to get off the sofa and try an activity they’ve not tried before. In just 8 weeks she, along with 25 other contestants, will learn 3 dance routines, training every Sunday with a professional partner before performing at The New Theatre, Oxford on 17th April 2016. “Governors are really pleased that WGS is working with Nuffield Health over the next two years, specifically looking at opportunities to improve the health & wellbeing of our pupils and staff – this is me doing my bit to overcome the downsides of my mostly sedentary job. Who knows, I may get bitten by the Strictly bug and keeeeep dancin’ after the competition!” says Hilary.
To encourage her in this testing challenge donations can be made, and would be very much appreciated, at www.justgiving.com/hilary-pillin. Tickets are available for the show at http://www.atgtickets.com/shows/strictly-oxford/new-theatre-oxford/
