Romeo and Juliet - WGS English Department

Last week, 48 students from year 10 visited Stratford- Upon -Avon to watch the Royal Shakespeare Company's new production of Romeo and Juliet. It was an exciting and very modern production, the interpretation and the staging have had us all talking since.

All year 10 will be studying the play in September for their GCSE English Literature and, while we use excellent film versions to support learning, we do recommend students experience the play on stage if they can. If you missed the trip, there are three opportunities you could look at: Witney Cineworld have a live screening coming up; the RSC production is still running in Stratford, and a local company, Tomahawk Theatre, are performing their production in the grounds of Oxford Castle this summer. Students in year 10 and year 9 - please consider going to one of these. Links below.
