Three important news items released this week

Dear parent/carer

May I draw your attention to three important news items announced in the last few days during the Easter holidays

  • Invitation to parents to share their views about Wood Green: Since the last Ofsted visit, the School has introduced a series of measures which we believe are beginning to make a real impact on the quality of teaching and learning. Part of the inspection process is an online survey of parent views about the school. A new survey ‘window’ has just opened and with it a chance to find out your response to these initiatives.  There are only 12 multiple choice questions to answer and your feedback will be considered by the leadership team, governors and by Ofsted inspectors too. So if you would like your views to be known, please visit

2014 WGS Year Book is priced at £10: Recent innovations in publishing mean the cost of printing hardbacks has fallen dramatically. The 2014 edition has 72 pages and a hardback cover. To pre-order a Year Book download and complete this form. Orders close at 3 00 pm Tuesday 29 April 2014. There will be no ‘spare’ copies to offer for sale.

  • WGS has teamed up our old specialist school sponsor Microsoft to launch a Digital Leaders Project, and to ensure all students can access a full copy of Office 2013 at home for no extra cost. Details on how students can use a new school email address; save work to 25Gb of cloud based storage; and activate a home licence for Office Pro on up to five devices, including Macs and i-pads, are found here

Finally a gentle reminder that

  • Parent Insight is fully operational and can be used to see homework, attendance, past reports and other information about your son or daughter. See How to Use Parent Insight for advice on how to access and use various features in this new service. Please email the school office if you have not yet received log in details.
  • A weekly digest of news and upcoming events is emailed out every weekend to help parents keep abreast of important ‘happenings’ at Wood Green School. If you are not yet receiving this update we strongly recommend that you subscribe to WGS Brieifing

Kind regards
