Mr Armstrong, Head of Sixth Form writes:
Here is the Sixth Form independent guide. As you know, much of the A level course requires a huge amount of independent study, with consolidation of topics studied in lessons, redrafting of work already completed and wider reading to enhance your general understanding. To this end, your teachers have compiled a list of tasks and websites for you to use during your study periods in order to maximise your potential across the curriculum.
In addition to this, we also recognise the huge value of reading in and around your subject, and enhancing your cultural capital with as much indulgence in literature as possible. The reading lists attached are but a few of the many books the English department recommend you read.
I have also included a guide on how to write essays, to complement the work of your subject teachers, and some study skills guidance to help you on your way to becoming a better independent learner.
Never again will you need to say 'But I don't have anything to do!'
