CAMHS are offering three online sessions for parents/carers to share advice on anxiety in teenagers. Details of these are below. The first presentation was run this week and the slides accompanying this are shared below.
Monday 29th March 2021 17:00-18:00 The road to independence - We will explore some of the common concerns that teenagers and parents face. We will be discussing issues around anxiety and helping your child to become a healthy independent adult and provided a number of useful techniques to support young people.

Monday 26th April 2021 17:00-18:00 Supporting your young person with anxiety - This presentation will explore the presentation of anxiety in adolescence and how to talk with young people about this. It highlights the difference between appropriate levels of anxiety and when additional help might be needed. It explores what might keep anxiety going and provides an overview of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (an evidence-based treatment for anxiety) as well as a number of useful techniques which parents can use to support their child.
Monday 17th May 2021 17:00-1800 Reflection session - Discussion about the strategies used and how to help them work for you.
