Respect - International Holocaust Day

Monday 27th January 2020 was International Holocaust Day, marking 75 years since the liberation of Auschwitz. Mr Steven Frank, a holocaust survivor from the Theresienstadt camp, has been visiting Wood Green to share his story with year 9 students for over 20 years. Mr Frank met the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this week at the National memorial event .

We are thrilled that he will be returning to Wood Green in March this year, when we will hold our own Holocaust Day memorial. Last year the BBC made this programme about Mr Frank and his granddaughter Maggie, which is well worth watching especially for Year 9s who would like to find out more about Mr Frank before they meet him at school. We are so grateful that Mr Frank visits every year to help us to learn more about our value of Respect and the British value of ‘mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith’.
