WGS PE News

The PE department has been busy this half term with training and playing some early fixtures and tournaments with some fantastic results.

As always it is such a pleasure to see the commitment from our students, and particularly at this stage from our new year 7's who are enjoying the new opportunities available to them.

All results are recorded on a weekly basis on the school website. Please click here for details.

We have had some very promising performances already this term, setting the standard for things to come.

Congratulations to the U15 rugby boys this week beating Carterton School 72-5 and also the U14 rugby boys for beating Carterton School 76-0.

The U13 girls gave a great performance in the first round of the county cup against Matthew Arnold. The team was a mixture of year 7 and 8's and they gave a great display of skill against some very strong opposition. Unfortunately having gone 1-0 up, Matthew Arnold drew level and clinched a winning goal 10 seconds before the final whistle. A great team performance and well done to Lily Olliffe for being nominated player of the match. Lily was recruited only a couple of weeks ago as the team goalkeeper and gave an outstanding performance.

There was also an outstanding performance by the U14 hockey team who have, to date won every WOSSP tournament since year 7. This week was no exception and they continued their winning streak and secured first place yesterday in this years event. Congratulations to all involved.
