Wood Green Student raises money for a local charity during Lockdown.

Holly Tillson in Year 7 has been making the most of her spare time during lockdown combining working towards her WGS Baccalaureate Art Subject Award with raising money for a local charity.

One of Holly's family's favourite local charities SpecialEffect has had to cancel some big events this year due to COVID-19. Holly wanted to help and came up with the idea of drawing portraits for people in return for a £5 donation to the charity via a Facebook Donation Page. So far she’s completed about 10, with a few commissions still to finish and raised well over £100.

The portraits have proved very popular and as a result Holly is not able to take on any more commissions at the moment.  Please click here to see more details of Holly's fundraising.

Ms D'Arcy Head of Art commented "What a lovely thing to do and such exciting work". Well done Holly from all of us. #Effort #Aspiration #WGSBaccalaureate
