Visual and Performing Arts


As well as being one of only two schools within Oxfordshire to offer the Excellent Musician's Programme, Wood Green boasts an extremely active extracurricular programme, made up of around 200 students participating in 9 Ensembles, many of which are student led. The department holds annual Junior and Senior European tours as well as Bi-annual concerts, events and competitions. 


Drama produce many performances throughout the academic year in the Hobday Drama Studio. These include AS, A2, GCSE and LAMDA performances. Drama leaders help to develop the confidence and skills of younger students and help to direct performances. In 2014, Wood Green devised and put on a large stage show 'Through the Decades.'

In February 2016, the Drama and Music Departments presented a whole school production of the Queen musical 'We Will Rock You.'.  

In February 2018, the Drama and Music Departments presented an amazing whole school production of Alan Parker's "Bugsy Malone"

The Drama Department are excited to announce that the next whole school play will be The Royal Shakespeare Company production of Beauty and the Beast. The performances will be during the week commencing 28th January 2019.


The Art Department holds an annual week long exhibition in the summer, with a public viewing.
