A Busy Week in the PE Department

This week saw a number of fixtures against Henry Box with some great results.

Congratulations to the Girls' U12 Netball Team winning their first match as a team 14-4, and also to the U13s winning 9-7.

Likewise the U12 boys were victorious in their first match winning 4-0 but unfortunately U13's lost by 5-0.

On Wednesday we had our WOSSP Swimming Gala and teams entered included U16 Girls and also U14 Boys and girls teams. There were some great finishes with Maddy Good setting a new record for the U16 Girls. I look forward to reporting more on this when we receive the official times from the organisers. Sadly we didn't qualify for the finals on this occasion but well done to all involved.

Also the U15 Girls on Wednesday went to Burford to take part in the West Oxford School Sport Netball Tournament. The girls having played together for a number of years now and have been fully committed to their training and have developed greatly as a squad. They faced some tough opposition but were victorious and came away with the trophy winning all of their matches.

Another round of fixtures against Henry Box on Thursday, again with some impressive results. The Girls' Netball U14 Girls won 8-7 and the U15 Girls won 12-7. In addition to this the boys continued with the winning streak with the U14 Boys' winning 2-0.

Alongside these sporting events we also had a group of students attend the County Badminton Finals in Abingdon. Results included the U14 Boys finishing 4th, U14 Girls finishing 2nd, U16 Girls finishing 3rd and the U16 Boys securing 1st place beating Burford and also Magdalen College A and B teams.

Congratulations to all of those involved in our sporting commitments this week for a great display of talent and sportsmanship. We will report further on the success of these students in our next achievement assemblies.

This afternoon the U14 Girls' Football Team head to Marlborough in the next round of the cup and I look forward on reporting the result next week.

Enjoy a relaxing weekend.

Late report in the Girls U14 Football Team are just back from their cup fixture against Marlborough. A great display of football with the girls winning 3-2 in some pretty challenging weather conditions.
