Monday 1st July to Wednesday 3rd July – New Intake Days
Students should arrive wearing their primary school uniform at 8.20am, ready for registration at 8.30am, students will be directed to the Hall through the main entrance and asked to sit in the numbered tutor groups.
After a short assembly, where possible, students will meet their new tutor. The remainder of the time during these three days will be spent in lessons. Students will not need PE kit on their first day. The timetable will indicate when PE lessons are later in the week. It would be good if students brought a pen to their lessons.
The day will end at 2.50pm on Monday and Tuesday, and at 1.50pm on Wednesday. Due to the school buses leaving site at the end of the school day Parents/Carers will not be able to park within the school grounds.
If your child is unable to attend the transition days or if you need to advise us of any special arrangements regarding your child being collected at the end of the school days please email Miss L Hardman, Student Services Team Leader on l.hardman@wgswitney.org.uk, otherwise all students will be allowed to leave the school site at the end of the day.
Please ensure your child has a snack and drink for breaktime and a packed lunch on Monday. We will be registering the students on our Biometric Systems on the Monday so if you wish to put money on their ParentPay account (activation letters will be sent out this week) they can buy lunch, snacks or drinks from our Restaurant on Tuesday and Wednesday.
After school clubs - We have after school clubs on the intake days which both girls and boys can attend, Monday is Cricket, Tuesday Softball and Drama, these clubs run from 3pm-4pm. Wednesday is Choir, and Cheerleading for girls, these clubs run from 2.00pm-3.00pm.
Students will need to be collected afterwards or make their own way home.
Wednesday 3rd July – New Intake Evening
This is a chance for you and your child to meet form tutors and the following staff will also be present for any queries: Mrs Turton (Head of SEN), the PTA, Mr McInally (Head of Year 7) and Mr Roberts, Transition Lead. Mrs Turton will be in the restaurant from 5:15pm until the presentations begin at 6pm and then again from 7pm to 7:30pm. The PTA will also have a stall with pre-owned uniform available, again in the restaurant.
Please arrive for 6pm through the main entrance where you will be directed to the Main Hall or to the designated classroom for your child’s Tutor Group. If you live locally, please come on foot as our car park fills up quickly.
