Our year 11s received their GCSE and Level 2 BTEC results this week and I am delighted to say that there were some fantastic achievements: 84.9% achieved a grade 4 or more in English, 79.9% in Maths, and 71.4% achieved 5 GCSEs at grade 4 including English and Maths, which is our BEST EVER RESULT!
We would like to congratulate all our students for what they have achieved. The headline of 71.4% achieving 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or more including English and Maths beats our previous best year of 2018, which is a particularly impressive achievement. There were some impressive individual results, with 28% of all grades being 7-9. There were also some huge individual stories of students who battled on to achieve GCSEs instead of giving up in the face of huge challenges.
Year 11, you now start your next chapter, many staying with us in our fabulous 6th Form, and many others going to new courses and apprentices at college. As well as your grades, you have so many well-rounded qualities that you have developed at Wood Green that will help you in the future. We are hugely proud of you all.
