I am delighted to welcome you to Wood Green School. In 1968 Wood Green School became the first comprehensive school in Witney and, more than fifty years on, we are proud that we remain truly a school for every young person in Witney. Our mission is to develop exceptional, well-qualified and well-rounded young people who make a positive contribution to our school, our community and the world. This shows our commitment to education of the whole person. Our curriculum is carefully designed to ensure that students develop as great learners and as great people.
If you are here because you are thinking of joining Wood Green, we believe that Wood Green is a great place to come to school: since 2018 we have been oversubscribed in year 7 and our Sixth Form has grown by nearly a fifth! The vast majority of our Sixth Form students go on to university, with over 35% this year at Russell Group universities, well-above the national average. Other students are now on equally fantastic apprenticeships with some of the top employers nationally.
We are proud too to be part of the Acer Trust, a rapidly growing multi-academy trust of community-minded schools. People who visit Wood Green are always struck by the sense of community and purpose, and by our commitment to our students. I hope this website gives you a flavour of the ethos of our school and the opportunities available. Please do contact us if we can help in any way.
