Thank you for your interest in Wood Green School. Our next open event for prospective Year 7 students joining us in September 2025 is:
Thursday 26th September 2024 from 5.00pm to 8.00pm.
The evening is designed so that you and your child will learn as much as possible about Wood Green. You will be able to tour the school to see staff and students working together, and perhaps join in yourselves.
Our Open Evening is from 5.00pm to 8.00pm. You are welcome to arrive at any time to suit you, but we recommend arriving by 6.30pm at the latest to see as much of the school as possible.
There will be three chances to hear a presentation from Mr Shadbolt (Headteacher), Mr Roberts (Head of Transition) Mr Bonsell (Assistant Headteacher), and students about Wood Green School, its ethos, and opportunities. These will be at 5.00pm, 6.00pm and 7.00pm in the Main Hall. Please click on one of the links below to book your place. Places are allocated on a first come first served basis. You will be emailed confirmation that you have booked places and will be asked to show your booking confirmation on the evening.
We would advise that you can “mix and match” your talk and the tour. For example, if you are booked for the 6.00pm talk, you can tour the school and see the activities from 5pm and continue after the talk has finished. Please note, if you are booked in for the 7.00pm talk and then hope to do the tour afterwards, this will not leave much time to visit the whole site.
If you have any questions regarding the transition process, Mr Roberts will be available to answer them in the Main Hall after each presentation. There will also be a member of the Leadership Team available in the Restaurant all evening.
When you arrive, please come to reception at the main entrance where you will be greeted and given a programme for the evening. Parking is available on site but for environmental reasons and to avoid congestion on site, please do walk if you can.
In addition to the Open Evening, we will be holding an Open Morning on Friday 27th September 2024 when you will be able to see the school on a normal working day. There will be three accompanied tours of the school beginning at 9.00am, 10.00am and 11.15am respectively, and once again, staff will meet you at the main entrance. You do not need to let us know in advance if you are attending.
