New Build Announcement

4th Mar 2025

Dear Members of Our School Community,

I am delighted to announce an exciting new chapter in Wood Green School's development. In partnership with Oxfordshire County Council, we are set to expand our facilities with a brand-new building at the front of our school. Although a potential building has been talked about for many months, we have just received final approval following the presentation of a robust business case. The building will introduce:

  • Six additional classrooms, including:
  • Modern science laboratories
  • Dedicated art studios
  • Outdoor learning spaces

Construction is scheduled to commence in April 2025, marking a significant £4 million pound investment into our pupils' learning environment and the future of our community. This project not only increases our capacity, but enhances the quality of teaching and learning by providing state-of-the-art facilities. We aim for the new building to be ready for September 2026.

Inevitably, such a build will create disruption. We recognise the importance of keeping you informed and will be sharing further details as the project progresses, including how disruption will be managed through the 18-month build period. We will communicate our disruption plan via this webpage ahead of the Easter holidays, and upload significant updates here as the works progress.

New build

I am confident that this development will offer substantial benefits for our students, staff, and wider community, strengthening our collective commitment to educational excellence.

Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this exciting journey,

Yours sincerely,

Rob Shadbolt
